As many of you would imagine, we have a lot of fun serving on staff at Stonebriar Community Church. A joke that we say around here, is that one will never go hungry and most of us gain a few pounds our first year”¦”the freshmen 15″! So you can imagine the snickering when we dubbed 2007 as the year to “Get Healthy”. How many times have each of you been talking with someone and used the phrase “I wish I had more time” or “we’re just so busy”? These are two common phrases that identify most of us in our daily lives. We live in a culture where we seek counseling for time management and over schedule our commitments with work, family, and church and inevitably something falls through the cracks. The question now becomes, when is it not about me and my time but about serving others?

During our trip we had the privilege of being with several missionaries, most of whom are former students of mine at DTS. We loved that part of the trip. Their lives inspire me to step into the classroom each and every day. When class begins I don’t see students, I see missionaries whose lives will intersect with the lives of folks all over the world, most of whom I’ll never meet. What more could someone ask of God than a life filled with that privilege?
