Go and Be: Spring Edition Update | March 19
March 23rd 2016 No comments yet
About 65 folks from our church family came together to Go and Be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community on Saturday, March 19. One team served the homeless in South Dallas, while another helped inner city children at C-Kids. Then, we had families stay at the church and get ready for the upcoming Easter week. We stuffed 2,500 Easter eggs to be delivered for Easter egg hunts in South Dallas, Little Elm, and Rowlett. 890 Easter treat bags and baskets were assembled for the nursing home and our community partners, and 250 Easter cards were prepared to send to our widows and widowers. Volunteers also sorted lots of groceries and packed 96 weekend food bags for Frisco FastPacs.
All of this was done in a few hours with much laughter, love, smiles, and even some singing by our cheeseball carrot-makers! When you add Saturday’s total to the number of gift bags we made last week at Family Experience (for Ring of Hope and all our Good News Clubs), that adds up to more than 2,000 little touches of love and care to folks outside the walls of our church.
There’s more to do! Click here and take a moment to visit the Go and Be web page, where you can view the complete list of upcoming opportunities.
God is at work…and we GET to be a part of it!
